Hi! I’m Favi, an international student in her 4th year of architecture, and I’m thrilled to be a Diverse Duck Ambassador. As someone who’s navigated life between cultures, I’m excited to share how my identity shapes—and is shaped by—my study abroad experience.

I chose this program for its focus on immersive, hands-on learning and the chance to explore architecture through a global lens. As a student far from home, I was especially curious about how I’d fit in—culturally, socially, and academically. I wondered how visible my identity would be and how open the environment might feel.
ImageMy first week in Rome was a dream. The people at the hotel were incredibly kind and welcoming, and I was amazed by how lively the city feels—people are always out, even just for a quick coffee. I love how walkable everything is; despite being a big city, Rome feels surprisingly easy to navigate on foot. The food? Absolutely incredible.
Academically, I’m really excited. This term promises to be full of learning and inspiration, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into the culture and architecture around me.
So far, it’s been a wonderful start—and I’m looking forward to what’s next!
